Dear Spring Grove Families—
We are thrilled to have our school open and our programs back for all our students. The Spring Grove staff, and Board of Trustees are committed to providing the best academic programs possible for our students, as well as focusing on interventions, extra-curricular activities and addressing the social emotional needs this year. Through the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and the District goals, we have developed actions and services to meet the needs of all students:
- Extended Day Intervention for 1st-3rd graders
- After School Tutoring for 4th-8th graders
- Saturday School monthly for 2nd-8th graders
- One to one technology at all grade levels
- Upgraded the library with $20,000 in new children’s literature
- Zero period Geometry Class for 8th graders
- i-Ready online reading and math program at all grade levels
- Push in intervention support for all TK-3rd grades
- Push in ELD support for all 4th-8th grade
- Long Term Independent Study ROAR teacher
- Hands on manipulatives for math and science
- AVID training – 25 teachers and 2 administrators
- Orton Gillingham comprehensive training for staff
- Science of Reading training and curriculum for staff
- Computer Science curriculum for 6th-8th grade
- Middle School Clubs- student generated (every Thursday)
- Beginning and Advanced Band (4th-8th grade)
- Common Sense Social Media education at all grade levels
- New ELA curriculum for 4th-8th grade
- Footsteps 2 Brilliance for TK-3rd grade
- Spanish translation for meetings
- New classroom computers for all teachers
- Dyslexia screening
- School Psychologist Intern to support student social emotional needs
- Hire 2 additional Special Education Aides
- Hire 2 additional Yard Duty Aides
- Sports program with new uniforms coming
- Professional development in math
- Funds for deferred maintenance- campus painting, new basketball outdoor hoops, asphalt painting, refurbish/replace well for field irrigation due to the drought
